+4 Sailing Trip
This report is from Saturday night at 6:00 pm. The posting date is off because the effort to put together a forecast, receive the boat report phone call and make dinner puts it to the next day. Here are the details of their progress so far ( compliments of Frank A.):
1. SF1 SanFranciscoBay 0 ft 0:00:00 N37 48.940 W122 28.923
2. SF2 5/10/07 117 mi 117 mi 0:00:00 234° true N36 49.052 W124 11.514
3. SF3 5/11/07 298 mi 181 mi 0:00:00 247° true N35 46.259 W127 10.200
4. SF4 5/12/07 460 mi 162 mi 0:00:00 245° true N34 46.262 W129 45.507
Graham and Brian both sounded good. The weather was sunny and had to be a little warmer but was still cold. Des was doing well too. Patty got to talk to both boys for Mother's Day. A nice present.
There are no big storms or warnings out there close enough to affect them. They are heading a little south but not by much due to wind and sea conditions. Graham said he has fixed a few things on the boat including most of the leaks. Very reassuring.
By the end of today they should have a pretty good handle on the daily routine. At 115 mi. per day average they have to plan way ahead to avoid storm conditions. They are receiving some weather forecasts on their radio and phone - pretty much what we have been seeing on the net.
Hoping for continuing good weather and good wind.
Happy Mother's Day.
